In this highly interactive 8-hour workshop, you'll learn and practice applying practical techniques for improving the value of your technical reports and increasing reader receptivity, comprehension, and response to your recommendations.

 

This will include how content should be organized and presented, how to leverage scientific principles of persuasive communication to justify your recommendations and achieve desired outcomes a higher percentage of the time, and how to apply the science of information design (as opposed to graphic design) to keep the reader interested.

 

Those who read your reports will feel more comfortable that you've provided the strong support needed to back the decisions they must make.

You'll leave this workshop with actionable concepts you can immediately implement to improve the quality and utility of your reports and put you on the path to greater success.

Performance Management Group, Inc. (PMGI) is approved by the Florida Board of Professional Engineers as a provider (No. 0005276) of continuing education for Professional Engineers.

 

Each attendee submitting a paid registration and attending the full workshop will receive a Professional Development Hours (PDH) course completion certificate for self-reporting purposes. 

 

Many states and various professional societies and associations accept Florida-approved PDH, but you should check to confirm this with organizations and states where you are licensed, registered, or certified, and verify they will accept education credits on the course topic.

  • How to translate data and narrative to graphics, charts, and diagrams

  • Types of graphics, charts, and diagrams that work best in specific situations

  • How to analyze data/information

  • Exercise: Using sample data or a narrative, translate it to a graphic, chart, or diagram

 

Drawing Conclusions

 

  • How to interpret results

  • Remaining factual

  • Anticipating and answering questions before they are asked

  • Exercise: Draw conclusions from a sample data set and/or graphic, chart, or diagram and analyze it

 

Expressing Recommendations
